The change from Provisional/Full Accreditation to Practitioner Accreditation
The questions below will help with understanding the change to labelling of Provisional/Full Accreditation.
What does this mean for me as I am currently Provisionally Accredited?
The process hasn’t changed – just the name. You will now be referred to as ‘Accredited’ rather than ‘Provisionally Accredited’, and the award you have gained is now called CBT Practitioner Accreditation.
The name Full Accreditation is now changed to First Accreditation Audit. You will be due to submit your Audit documents on the same date as we first told you that your Full Accreditation was due.
I am due to apply very soon and I have used the old forms – what do I do?
We will accept Full Accreditation application forms until 30 April 2023. After this date you must complete the new First Accreditation Audit documentation. Your current supervisor must also complete the new First Audit Supervisor’s Report from then.
However, we will continue to accept Full Accreditation versions of Supervision Logs, Reflective Statements and previous Supervisor’s Reports with your First Audit submission.
Are there any differences between the new First Accreditation Audit and Full Accreditation Requirements?

I will need to apply for an extension due date, can I still do this?

Why is there a new First Accreditation Audit Supervisor report?
The forms have been rewritten to make them simpler and quicker to complete. Your supervisor will be asked to confirm any break in practices or extension requests within their report.
Have any timelines changed? Will there be any difference in submission dates?
No. All dates linked to your accreditation will remain the same.
Will there be any differences on the CBT Register?
No, all accredited CBT practitioners appear on the register.
What is the difference between being invited for First Audit and Random Audit?
We ask everyone (who achieves Provisional Accreditation, now Practitioner Accreditation) to submit a detailed submission for First Accreditation Audit. This allows you to get accustomed to the annual requirements you will be expected to keep independently in the future.
We randomly audit 5% of all accredited practitioners who have completed their First Audit or as was know full accreditation. You may be selected for this at any point after this.
