This Special Interest Group (SIG) promotes the use of evidence-based cognitive behavioural approach in medicine, ensuring medical practitioners receive the training and resources they need to apply CBT effectively and safely.
Focus Areas
- Promote evidence-based CBT among medical practitioners
- Encourage membership from medical and related disciplines within the BABCP
- Advocate for competency-based CBT practice in medicine
- Facilitate communication between BABCP and relevant Medical Royal Colleges
- Advise medical education bodies on CBT training needs for practitioners
- Support the Royal College of Psychiatrists in delivering psychological training to junior doctors
- Represent the SIG at BABCP meetings and provide activity reports
- Hold an AGM at the annual conference and two other meetings annually
