Dr David Baker became a BABCP Trustee in 2006 and also served as Honorary Treasurer, as well as taking on pivotal roles
in the formation of the organisation. While as a BABCP Director, he was instrumental in the formation of the BABCP Independent Practitioners Special Interest Group (IPSIG), having recognised a growing need to provide a cohesive voice for independent practitioners.
He chaired the IPSIG from 2010 until 2015, during which time he established initiatives such as focused training sessions around the country and its own website, working with determination to serve members in independent practice, and have the group seen as an integral part of BABCP.
In addition to his significant contributions to the BABCP, Dr Baker’s work on perfectionism has been greatly valued. He has conducted exceptional research in this area, shedding light on the mechanisms underlying this common and often debilitating condition. His clinical expertise in treating perfectionism has helped many individuals to overcome this often overwhelming challenge.
