The primary aim of the Fellowship is to recognise those members who have made a significant contribution to the development or advancement of CBT and BABCP. A significant contribution to CBT may be in one or more of the following areas:
Clinical service
Research
Teaching/training
Service development
Public engagement
Services to BABCP
be a current BABCP member and will have held that membership for at least five years.
have been engaged in the CBT field in the United Kingdom or Ireland for a minimum of 10 years.
be proposed and seconded by current BABCP members. You will need to contact the proposer and seconder in advance and inform them that BABCP Head Office will be in touch to ask them to provide a citation of support for your nomination. The application is dependent on upon the support of a Proposer and Seconder
Successful applicants will be notified by email and announced in CBT Today and on the BABCP website. They will be entitled to call themselves a Fellow once their status has been confirmed. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by email.
The application will be critically reviewed and rated by the Fellowship Committee, a delegated committee of the BABCP Board. The decision of the Committee and the Board of Trustees is final, there is no appeals process.
The Fellowship Committee will consider whether an applicant may meet the requirements for Fellowship or Honorary Fellowship. There are not separate forms. Please do not request that an application is only considered for an Honorary Fellowship award.
The award of “Fellow of the BABCP” is reserved for those who have demonstrated sustained commitment to the values and objectives of the BABCP and entitles you to use the title “Fellow of the BABCP”.
Please note: No documentation will be considered other than the application form and the citation of the Proposer and Seconder unless otherwise requested by the Fellowship Committee.
