Raising a concern

If you have a concern or complaint about a BABCP member, we want to know about it.

Empowering people to speak up

We hold all of our members to the highest professional standards, which they commit to by adhering to our Standards of Conduct, Performance, and Ethics

If you have a concern or a complaint about a BABCP member, or something has gone wrong, we want you to speak up. We have a clear complaints process in place, which deals with concerns about our members, whether it is about their conduct or fitness to practice.

We encourage feedback from clients, the public, and our members to identify any concerns. We investigate and take action to protect the public, and hold our members accountable for their work.

Confidential Wellbeing Support

BABCP recognises that being involved in a complaints process, whether as a complainant or as a member responding to a concern, can be challenging, distressing, or emotionally demanding. To ensure that individuals are appropriately supported, BABCP has partnered with CiC Wellbeing, a professional and confidential support service. This service is available when a complaint has been acknowledged in accordance with the BABCP Complaints, Declarations and Disciplinary Procedure.

BABCP Members can book a 50-minute professional support session, which offers a confidential space to process the emotional impact of the complaint and the complaints process, reflect on professional identity, and reconnect with both internal and external resources. Find out more

Complainants can book a 30-minute wellbeing check-in session, which offers a compassionate space to reflect on the emotional impact of the complaints process. Find out more
