The IT SIG is a new SIG that is just in the process of establishing its core committee and agreeing roles and responsibilities.

This new group brings together clinicians who share an interest in how technology can be used to both deliver and augment CBT.

  • To provide clinicians with up to date evidence in relation to the efficacy and use of individual methods of technology.

  • To provide clinicians with the opportunity to have hands on experience of a variety of methods of delivering and augmenting CBT via a technological process.

  • To explore the wider landscape in relation to how technology can be used to; enhance feedback in higher education, train clinicians, support clinicians in day-to-day administrative tasks and provide links between services and patients.

  • To bring together like-minded people to build on the existing evidence base.

Member benefits

Joining IT+CBT means that members will have access to low cost/free CPD and will receive an annual newsletter providing an update on the latest technological developments and their evidence base. The SIG is also hoping to set up an online forum for group members by the end of the year. Hopefully this will be a vibrant ‘environment’ to learn together.

First CPD event

The SIG’s first CBT event is planned for late 2017. This event will be held in central London and will present members with an experiential introduction to a number of technological processes used to deliver or augment CBT.
