Synopsis

This full-day workshop can be attended as a standalone CPD or as the first in a series of two linked training sessions which overall aim to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to undertake CBT Group Supervision of Individual Therapy.

Session 1 will focus on:

- Understanding different conceptual models of group supervision
- The pros and cons of group supervision compared to individual supervision
- How to maximise the positive aspects of group supervision, and minimise the negative aspects.

The workshop aims to enable attendees to deliver group supervision of individual therapy safely and inclusively. This will be achieved through a combination of theoretical knowledge, critical discussion, hands-on skills practice, and demonstrations on how to enhance peer effects in groups safely and inclusively.

This workshop is suitable for qualified and experienced psychological therapists who currently supervise practitioners providing individual therapy and wish to enhance their skills in group supervision.

Session 2 will take place on Monday 10 November and you can find out more about this session or book your place here.

At the end of the workshop, attendees should be able to:

-  List the specific competences required to conduct supervision in a group format.
- Discuss why supervisees may be reluctant to disclose difficulties in their practice in group supervision.
- Demonstrate awareness of what to include in a group supervision contract.
- Create an effective structure for group supervision sessions.
- Explain how group-specific factors can enhance the acquisition of knowledge and skills.
