Do you want to set up a private practice but don’t know where to begin? Are you overwhelmed with all the tasks ahead of you and different areas to consider? This webinar will simplify and clarify the first five key steps you need to take to get started in private practice to ensure you have a solid foundation for your private practice. Sarah Rees has over a decade of experience in private practice and as the author of the soon-to-be-released 'The Therapist's Guide to Private Practice: Building a Values-Based Business,' Sarah is an expert in simplifying and demystifying the start-up process. In this webinar, Sarah will break down the first five steps, including how to decide on a fitting name for your practice, defining your services, setting the right fee and securing your initial referrals. This webinar is ideal for all therapists either considering a private practice, through to those ready to get started. Sarah's comprehensive approach will provide you with a clear plan and actionable steps. There will be a focus on understanding how to set up a private practice that is sensitive to serve clients from a range of cultural, linguistic and social backgrounds and communities. This will ensure that communication styles and practice settings are accessible and accommodating to all client needs. You will receive a checklist and a practical workbook to go through. By the end of this session, you'll feel confident about the specific actions to take, which will take you from the initial idea through to launching your private practice successfully. This will ensure you are ready to embark on your private practice journey with the clarity and confidence needed to succeed!
Sarah Rees has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, first as a nurse and then as a BABCP accredited CBT therapist and has expanded her training with EMDR and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). She works alongside Professor Paul Gilbert and his team, delivering supervision for the CFT diploma trainees through the Compassionate Mind Foundation.
Sarah runs a successful private practice in Wilmslow, Cheshire, where she has been helping clients and also mentoring therapists for over a decade. She hosts the podcast ‘Ask the Therapists’ and writes regular blog posts around mental health, therapy and private practice.
Sarah has grown a community for therapists in private practice called ‘Therapists Corner' on Substack, where thousands of therapists connect and work together to evolve and enrich their business. Sarah supports therapists from those first 'should I do this?' moments to building and running a successful private practice that is as financially sound as grounded in values.
Over the last year, Sarah has been writing 'The Therapists Guide to Private Practice: Building a Values-Based Business', which you'll see on the shelves in mid-2024, courtesy of Routledge.
