Places are limited though so book early to avoid disappointment. SynopsisThis workshop is suitable for therapists wanting to develop their confidence and skills in working with mental imagery in CBT. The workshop is experiential in nature and will give participants the opportunity to practice and experience evidence-based imagery interventions for a variety of clinical presentations. The aim of the workshop is to give participants the ability to integrate imagery work into their current practice as well as broaden their repertoire of imagery-based interventions.The workshop will cover the following areas:
- Conceptualizations of mental imagery and the ‘special relationship’ imagery has with emotion and memory
- Assessment of mental imagery
- Formulation of problematic imagery
- The practice of imagery interventions including: memory re-scripting, imagery transformation and manipulation
- Developing ‘positive’ imagery
Dr Tobyn Bell is a psychotherapist specialising in Compassion Focused Therapy. He is also an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Schema Therapist, and Voice Dialogue Facilitator. He works as a lecturer and operational lead at the University of Manchester and is a co-director of Chairwork with Matthew Pugh. Tobyn gives workshops nationally and internationally on the subjects of compassion, imagery, and chairwork and is an active researcher in these areas. He is co-author of the book: Compassion Focused Therapy from the Inside Out.

No refunds will be granted if a cancellation is made fewer than 7 days prior to the scheduled event, or for failure to attend.
BABCP cancels events only when necessary, but reserves the right to do so, as well as to reschedule events and substitute presenters. If an event is cancelled by BABCP you will be given a full refund of registration fees paid.
BABCP expressly excludes any liability for any direct or indirect losses or damages arising as a result of an event cancellation and will not be responsible for any associated costs incurred i.e. travel or accommodation. As such, it is recommended that you do not book non-refundable travel or accommodation.
