This is an online, participative event on the Zoom meeting platform, organised by the Schema Special Interest Group (SIG).

Registration closes - Midday Tuesday 24th January. Places are limited though so book early to avoid disappointment.

This workshop is aimed at clinicians who are looking for an introduction to Schema Therapy model. It will provide an overview of Schema Therapy and a useful conceptualise framework for clinicians to work with clients across a spectrum of complex presenting issues. Experiential exercises will be used to demonstrate some of the key techniques in the application of Schema Therapy, including limited reparenting, emphatic confrontation and imagery and chair work. In addition theoretical skills will be outlined for practitioners to have an understanding of schemas and modes.

Schema Therapy as an approach is designed to help create emotional change and evolved from Jeffrey Young's wanting to understand the emotional complexity of client's who were unable to respond to CBT interventions designed to treat axis 1 disorders based upon lived experiences. He also proposed that we all have schemas and modes.

The workshop will include experiential exercises to help practitioners explore themselves in relation to schemas and modes.
