Adapting CBT for Younger People in Higher Education

Presented by Dr Maria Loades

About the event

This is an online, participative event via the Zoom meeting platform.  This session will not be recorded

CBT Therapists in Higher Education will usually have a wealth of experience working with adults but more often will have less experience working with young adults.  There is an increasing amount of evidence suggesting that successful CBT treatment for young adults has more in common with CBT for children/adolescents than with adults.

The aim of this event is for CBT Practitioners in Higher Education to reflect on their approach to working with younger adults, and the adaptions they could make in their delivery of CBT when working with this client group.

Learning Outcomes

To be able to reflect and understand which Students may benefit from an adapted model of CBT and what these adaptations may look like.

To be able to consider how they may use Clinical Supervision for this purpose and where further training may be useful

Target Audience

Experienced CBT Therapists in HE (i.e. not recent graduates due to a need for a period of experience in their foundation training)

Attendees will be issued a CPD Certificate for 1.5 hours
