Cambridge University Counselling Service is seeking to recruit a Senior Counsellor to join the management team of the University Counselling Service, which oversees the day-to-day delivery of all aspects of Service work, and the ongoing development of the Service.
The post holder will be assisting with developing and contributing to the management of this busy and well-respected multi-disciplinary Counselling Service.
The post-holder will be part of the Senior Management team, have significant line management responsibilities, as well as offering counselling to students.
The successful candidate will have a post-graduate level counselling qualification (full accreditation as a counsellor/psychotherapist with BACP, UKCP, BABCP, BCP or as a clinical or counselling psychologist with BPS is essential), as well as extensive experience of individual counselling in an organisational or institutional context, preferably FE or HE, and have proven experience and a demonstrable ability to lead and motivate staff within a counselling service.
To undertake all work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework.

The University Counselling Service is currently operating on a hybrid basis, combining remote working and working in the Student Services building. We are currently offering students video or telephone counselling appointments and online group and workshop sessions.
This will continue to be reviewed in line with university guidance.
