Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

Salary: £47,126 - £53,219 per annum/pro rata

Contract: 12 months

We really want to hear from you if you are an enthusiastic HCPC registered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist wanting to develop your clinical, supervisory and leadership skills, who wish to make a difference to patients with long term mental health problems, providing evidence-based treatments across Oxfordshire. We are also happy to hear from other accredited psychological therapists that can demonstrate they meet the person specification.

We are developing Psychological Therapies as part of the integrated Specialist Adult Mental Health Teams in Oxfordshire and have been successful in requiring additional funds to offer 12-month fixed term posts to provide in person or digital therapy.

As a flexible employer we would welcome discussions about opportunities we can offer in posts both full and part time, for people wanting to specialise in adult mental health.

We offer CPD and training to support career progression, have excellent links with the Oxford Centre for Psychological Health that includes Oxford Centre for Cognitive Therapy (OCTC) and Oxford Institute for Clinical Psychology Training, which is hosted by the Trust. We actively encourage innovation and research with opportunities for collaborations with University of Oxford Department of Psychiatry and Department of Experimental Psychology. We also collaborate with Oxford Brookes University and Buckinghamshire New University.

We provide excellent accredited supervision by senior therapists to help you consolidate your therapy skills in a focused and supported way, monthly opportunities to meet psychological therapy colleagues from across the county for reflective practice groups; clinical updates and professional development, and excellent CPD opportunities.

Please apply if you can demonstrate:

  • Evidence of significant knowledge in your specialist therapy area of working with adults with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties
  • A good working knowledge of evidence-based treatments
  • Sound clinical risk assessment and management
  • Experience of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Substantial experience of supervision with therapists and other clinical staff
  • Experience of leadership and management of therapy staff
