Lecturer in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy

The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education is looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer, experienced and qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy, to contribute to our Post Graduate Diploma / Master’s in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and to support the continued development of the University’s cognitive behavioural therapies provision. The successful applicant will teach at postgraduate level, and will:

 Make a substantial contribution to the delivery of PG Dip / MSc Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy course, teaching and tutoring students in skills, theory and professional practice.

  • Contribute to the delivery of other courses within the academic portfolio.
  • Contribute to Master’s dissertation supervision
  • Engage in scholarly activity and develop their research interests.

This is an opportunity to make an important contribution to the arts therapies training in South Wales, joining a vibrant and enthusiastic team. This course is one of a range of psychotherapeutic programmes at the university and is housed in purpose built teaching and clinical accommodation at Newport City Campus.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, registered with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in learning, teaching and professional practice, and will preferably have previous experience of teaching in Higher or Further Education.

You will be expected to use your clinical skills in group work and supervision, and play a key role in identifying and contributing to the management of suitable clinical placements in accordance with the learning requirements of the programme. In addition, you will need to demonstrate an interest in pursuing your own areas of research.

Bydd yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus yn addysgu ar lefel ôl-raddedig, a bydd:

  • Yn gwneud cyfraniad sylweddol at y gwaith o ddarparu cwrs PG Dip / MSc Seicotherapi Gwybyddol Ymddygiadol, gan addysgu a thiwtora myfyrwyr mewn sgiliau, theori ac ymarfer proffesiynol.

  • Yn cyfrannu at oruchwylio traethodau hir graddau Meistr
  • Yn cymryd rhan mewn gweithgarwch ysgolheigaidd ac yn datblygu eu diddordebau ymchwil.

Rhaid i ymgeiswyr ddangos ymrwymiad i ragoriaeth mewn dysgu, addysgu ac ymarfer proffesiynol, ac yn ddelfrydol bydd ganddynt brofiad blaenorol o addysgu ym maes Addysg Uwch neu Addysg Bellach.

Bydd disgwyl i chi ddefnyddio'ch sgiliau clinigol mewn gwaith gr┼Áp a goruchwylio, a chwarae rhan allweddol o ran nodi a chyfrannu at waith rheoli lleoliadau clinigol addas yn unol â gofynion dysgu'r rhaglen.
