This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing team in Hastings and Rother, East Sussex where the mental health needs of children and young people are at the centre of our service.
MHSTs will serve clusters of schools, providing a high quality and responsive mental health services to children and young people and their parents/carers, in accordance with Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP-IAPT) principles. You will also provide training and support to school staff, helping to embed whole-school approaches to mental health.
The Senior Mental Health Practitioner will focus on providing day to day clinical and supervisory support for the Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs). The role will be working alongside community partners and developing relationships between the new MHST and educational settings.
You are responsible for supporting the development of the MHSTs and embedding their services within educational settings across Hastings and Rother. The postholder maintains a caseload, delivers group interventions and screens/co-ordinates allocations and line managers Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs).
