We are seeking a skilled and confident Specialist Mental Health Practitioner to offer intensive supervision to the Hounslow West Mental Health Support Team (MHST), which comprises Band 5 Education Wellbeing Practitioners and Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners, and a Band 6 Recruit to Train CBT Trainee Therapist. The role also involves diverse interventions such as group work, training, and consulting to education colleagues, in addition to carrying out assessments and holding a small caseload. This is a specialist mental health post but the successful applicant will be supported to maintain their professional registration and will have access to support/supervision from colleagues from within their discipline, if applicable.
You will be joining a dynamic and developing new workforce in West London NHS Trust Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services. The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community in response to the government’s Green Paper for Young People’s Mental Health. Hounslow have been successful in being one of the first sites in the England to benefit from significant investment in this area. Over the last two years, hundreds of children and young people have accessed guided self- help and group work support, with very encouraging feedback and clinical outcomes.

In response to the Government advice relating to the Covid-19 pandemic, our MHST staff are fully supported to work remotely. This is subject to regular review, in line with local and national guidance. All new employees will be provided with the necessary training and equipment to work from home and we have put in place additional measures to support new employees during this period.
