This in an exciting new post within the Anna Freud Centre’s Division of Education & Training. The post-holder will co-lead a new Postgraduate Diploma in Child & Adolescent Psychology and Neuroscience in Practice. The Division already hosts 11 highly successful postgraduate programmes, all focused on aspects of child and adolescent mental health. As with all of our postgraduate programmes, this new programme is being delivered in partnership with University College London (UCL). This new programme will be delivered completely remotely to students and is particularly targeting professionals who work with children and young people, outside of the mental health field (e.g., education, social care, and community sectors). The goal is to provide high quality evidence-informed teaching in child mental health, to professions who may not readily receive such training yet often find themselves responsible for supporting the mental health of young people.

The post-holder will co-direct this programme, alongside an academic-focused Programme Co-Director based at UCL. The role will begin in January 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter. In collaboration with the other Co-Director, initially, the role will be focused on the complete development of the course content, including teaching and assessment content, the design of pastoral care initiatives to match the remote-delivery of the course, and marketing and recruitment aspects. The clinical/practitioner Co-Director is particularly responsible for the clinical and practice-facing content on the course, including teaching and assessment content. From September 2023, the Programme Co-Directors will lead the delivery of the programme.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate with specialist experience and expertise working in the child and adolescent mental health field, alongside experience developing and/or delivering teaching-related content. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and work effectively with multi-disciplinary colleagues is essential.

The successful candidate would have access to learning around the many professional development training opportunities offered to staff at the Anna Freud Centre. They will also potentially have opportunities to access further learning and development opportunities via UCL.

Please email with any job enquiries, or if you require assistance or experience difficulties when applying. Please note that successful candidate(s) will be asked to evidence their Right to Work in the UK post-job offer – we do not hold a sponsor licence therefore we are unable to provide Visa sponsorship.

This post in based at the Anna Freud Centre in King’s Cross (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). Some hybrid working will be possible, but the candidate would need to be willing to be in London as needed for teaching- and planning-related meetings, either at Anna Freud Centre or UCL.
