The Centre works in close collaboration with University College London (UCL) to deliver a series of postgraduate programmes. The Postgraduate Studies (PGS) Department is grouped into two ‘streams’. In the first instance, the Course Tutor will support the delivery of programmes within the Workforce Development Stream/professional programmes, which includes UCL postgraduate programmes funded by Health Education England (HEE) – please view the job description for an overview. The Workforce Development Stream is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth. The longstanding Postgraduate Diploma (Pg Dip) in CYP IAPT Therapy will now offer UCL students registered on the course an opportunity to specialise in a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) modality. There are also further opportunities to support the delivery of a newly proposed Pg Dip Senior Wellbeing Practitioner course and extension to the existing Pg Cert in Child and Young Persons Psychological Wellbeing Practice to a Pg Dip. As professional accreditation is also being sought on some of the programmes within this stream, therefore the post-holder is required to be a BABCP-accredited CBT professional. 

The CBT modules aim to provide students with a sound base of CYP IAPT principles including collaborative working, evidence-based practice and routine outcome monitoring. Graduates of this course will develop their competency in the therapeutic skills and underlying evidence base needed to engage and work beneficially with parents/carers and children/young people with depression and anxiety disorders.

The Course Tutor will undertake a lead role in the delivery of the teaching, assessment and ongoing development of relevant CBT modules. This entails responsibility for delivering two modules contributing towards the Pg Dip in CYP IAPT Therapy.

The successful candidate will have a recognised qualification in a core mental health profession (see person specification for guidance). Knowledge and understanding of the contexts within which CAMHS practice takes place, including recent work within a CAMHS setting, is required for this role. Furthermore, substantial experience of delivering teaching/training on how to ethically work with parents/carers and CYP with anxiety and depression is required. An understanding student welfare and safeguarding is also an important element for this role.

Location

Hybrid working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). Staff are working onsite for at least 40% of their working hours at the Anna Freud Centre in King’s Cross (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH). The majority of teaching will be carried out remotely, although face-to-face work will also be required when appropriate.
