Job Title: Psychological Therapist
Contract: Fixed Term Contract (up to 12 months, Maternity Cover)
Hours: 21 hours per week
Location: Manchester, M1
Salary: £20,471.40 per annum (FTE £34,119 per annum) 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays, generous pension scheme and group life assurance.

We are looking for a Psychological Therapist who will be responsible for direct clinical provision to people who are survivors of torture and organised violence through individual or group therapy, offering a range of interventions. In addition the post holder will contribute to the development and delivery of internal and external training, and will provide consultation and supervision to external professionals who work with survivors of torture and organised violence. The role may at times include delivering supervision to approved volunteers.

We are looking for a therapist, who has the skills and experience to offer a broad range of therapeutic interventions, including stabilization, trauma-focused therapies, supportive therapy and creative activity-based group work.

Freedom from Torture is dedicated to healing and protecting people who have survived torture. We provide therapies to improve physical and mental health, we medically document torture, and we provide legal and welfare help. We expose torture globally, we fight to hold torturing states to account and we campaign for fairer treatment of torture survivors in the UK.

Our team of dedicated professionals provide direct support to survivors including psychological therapy, physical health services, legal and welfare support, and expert medical reports for use in survivors’ asylum claims.
