Minimum Training Standards (MTS)

The criteria for Provisional Accreditation are known as our Minimum Training Standards (MTS). These are the minimum level of training, experience and practice you need you to get accredited.

We also use these standards when we assess CBT training programmes for Course Accreditation.

Do I meet the Standards?

If you want to work out if you meet the criteria for Provisional Accreditation, it will be down to you to compare the requirements shown in the documents below with your training.  You will need course handbooks and/or timetables in order to do this - and these will be needed as evidence if you apply for accreditation.

What if I need to top up my training to meet the Requirements? This section in the Getting Accredited FAQs will explain what to do if you meet most but not all of the criteria for accreditation.

Graduates of Level 2 BABCP Accredited courses will have met these criteria.

Whilst the MTS show the quantity of training you need for accreditation, the Core Curriculum Reference Document  will show you the content we expect in CBT training.

If you did a non-accredited training, you should have a good look at this to make sure that you have covered all the necessary areas.
