Accreditation as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with BABCP means that you have met our Minimum Training Standards (MTS) and criteria for Accreditation.
If you are a graduate of a BABCP Level 2 accredited training course, you will have met all of our MTS. There is no time limit for applying after you graduate.
If you applying more than five years after graduation you will need to submit further information with your application. Please click here for details.
To apply for accreditation you must complete and pay for your application to be processed using the form below. If your submission is successful, you will be added to the CBT Register UK and Ireland as an accredited CBT therapist.
Complete this application form if you graduated from one of our Level 2 accredited courses. Please check the list of Level 2 courses to ensure that your course cohort was accredited when you graduated.

If you did not complete a Level 2 accredited CBT programme, you can find the right application form here. We will let you know if you have completed the wrong form, and you will need to re-submit your application. There may be an administration fee.
If you have previously been accredited with us, you will need to apply via the Return to Practice route.
As soon as you can provide evidence that you have successfully completed your BABCP Level 2 Accredited course (see below), you can apply. You don't have to be in current CBT Practice.
If you graduated more than five years ago and have never been accredited, you must provide a Return to Practice Supplement and Reference. You can apply at any time after graduating.

Submitting your application
These instructions will tell you how to submit your application and supporting documents - Submitting your application for Level 2 Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist Accreditation.
Once you have Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist Accreditation, you are accredited and you will appear on the CBT Register UK and Ireland.
Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist Accreditation is awarded for a period of 12 months. You must then complete a First Accreditation Audit submission. Your accreditation award confirmation email includes the date you must apply.
The audit requires you to provide evidence that you have continued to meet accreditation requirements. Details can be found here.
