BRANCH LIAISON COMMITTEE MEETING, EDINBURGH CONFERENCE

Once again the Annual conference has been and gone. However the  Branch Liaison committee keeps going from strength to strength with a tremendous turn out this year from all over the UK.It would seem the event once again was a resounding success and the liaison  members again promoted all what is good about being a member of  the BABCP. At the meeting we had feedback from the previous board meeting, kindly relayed by Jenny Riggs.

Thank you Howard Lomas for a whirl wind tour of the new layout of the BABCP home page and easier access to all news, events and accredited therapists. All branches have now their own banners for use at all events, locally and nationally. Nick Wade, our present chair and possible future chair at least for the next year took great pride in the fact that the board supported the idea of an award for "outstanding achievement" in promoting Branch activities. The first award was duly received by Central branch! Well done Stephanie Fitzgerald. It took the shape of a lovely glass paper weight to mark their achievement.

The main issue from the previous Board meeting was the Government initiatives regarding IAPT and the importance of the role of the BABCP as an Organisation influencing government policies. It was acknowledged by the branches that they too have an important part to play in this process.

A big thank you to Tim Snell for providing feedback on the management of branch accounts since it centralised last year. Over all it is working well.

All in all I think we ended on a high after this meeting and look forward to continuing where we left off at our last meeting of the year. That will be on Friday, 28th November in Liverpool.  The venue has still to be confirmed. See you all there.
